Fall Woes
Retaking the Kaplan MCAT course. It is a ton of work to keep up with all the material and studying. I like to take study breaks by messing around with 3d programs. Here is a quick pistol:

And here is a sketch for the 3d artisans zombie competition:

In other news, I feel like the fall is getting pretty depressing, with all the violence and murders in the news, the election coming up is getting everyone all nervous, the problems in the economy etc... :( I am just trying to keep my chin up and I encourage you all to do the same. There will be better times to come...

And some links I thought would be great to share:

Baltimore Comic Con 2008
My buddy Steve and I attended the Baltimore Comic Con this past weekend and it was flippin' sweet. Got to meet a bunch of my favorite comic creators, and get autographs. Jim Lee, Eric Larson, Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, Adam Hughes, Mike Mignola, Geoff Jones, Frank Cho, and Cliff Rathburn. Both Erik Larson and Cory Walker were nice enough to make sketches for me, click read more to see the scans.

I am such a fanboy!!!:crazy: I also dressed up for my first time ever: Green Lantern Hal Jordan. It was really cool though, a ton of people stopped me to take pics and I saw at least one hundred people wearing green lantern logo t-shirts.

The Baroness from GI Joe!

Currently I am working on making some quake 1 models, and working on a single player map. I have an idea for a mod project in my head, I'll be getting started shortly. I'll also be helping out with projects such as Mega TF Coop, and Dark Summer.

Here is the sniper rifle I made for Mega TF Coop:

Quake Modding
I wrote a tutorial for the Quake Expo 2008 on how to make a model in max and get it into Quake 1: http://qexpo.tastyspleen.net/booth.php?id=153

Then I went ahead and made a megaman megabuster arm model to replace the rocketlauncher in the game:

I start a job as a valet driver at a local country club. Should be fun, earn some cash part-time, drive some fancy cars, check out some hot rich daughters...

Zug Zug
Working at iD Tech Camp in Towson was a great experience. It was a ton of fun teaching teens new lessons, and watching them get pumped about games they enjoy. On the last day, a mother of a camper came up to me and shook my hand, and told me that I really made an impact on her sons life. It was surprising at first, I didn't feel like I had done anything special, but I guess it was a big deal for him. It felt like a huge mitzvah, really good.

Here are two maps I made while teaching the kids, they are still in beta stage, check out the pics in the forum threads:

DM-Sniped - A simple sniper practice level. The campers had a ton of fun dueling each other on this.

VCTF-Chaos3 - A remake of one of my favorite q3f maps. Still needs some work.

Hopefully once I get a new computer (quad core!!!) I will be able to finish these up and create some new maps.

Now to do some hardcore studying!

Updates Updates Updates
Whew so it's been a long while since I've posted here. Been super busy, but I guess you could say I've been neglecting my own site. So let's take a look at what I've been up to.

Finished post bac classes (straight As this last semester! woohoo), scheduled to take the MCAT exam August 26th.
Started working as an instructor at iD Tech Camp at Towson University, teaching 3D Video Game Design II (Using the Unreal 3 Editor).
Gotten into mapping for quake3 and Unreal3. The Unreal3 Editor blows Gtkradiant completely out of the water me thinks.

I've also made a new website for a client:
http://www.dputzel.com
and I am currently working on this interesting website:
http://www.intuneacademy.com

Things are going well, but the camp is pretty exhausting. I want to study for the MCAT at night but when I get to my dorm room I just pass out from being so tired. Those rascals can suck the life force right out of ya. The kids are great, we are teaching kids ranging from 6-17, my kids are usually 13-17, and it is a ton of fun. The best is when they go "CooooOOOOooool". On the first day, as we were walking into the computer lab, a camper said, "Are we in heaven?" We also have some ridiculous kids. There was one kid named Ben, 6 years old, a math genius, memorized his multiplication table, could do square roots, fractions, X^2, and X^3, all this before he could even read! 8) It cracked me up. Sorry no pictures for this post, hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Nintendo Cell Phone Concept
How come nintendo hasn't made a sweet official cell phone yet? I for one would buy it. I don't want any gimmicky cell phone, just one that can play some old school games, or even some newer ones like for the Gameboy Advance. I'll try to make this concept more detailed and higher poly, in better quality, and then send it to Nintendo demanding they make it ;)
